Laptop Not connecting to my Surfboard on Desktop

My Inspiron 530 is connected to a Motorola Surfboard SBG 900 Wireless installed by TW Cable. My son,s Dell Inspiron Laptop is not pick up from my Surfboard, but connects to the internet thru one in the area. What do I need to do to my settings so he can connect thru my Surfboard. They are both in the same house. Thanks

Is MAC address filtering enabled on the Surfboard?  If so, you'll need to add the MAC address for your son's wireless card for it to connect.  If MAC filtering is not enabled, then I'd double check he has the correct wireless configuration set.
