New WiFi card installed - no wireless networks detected.
I have recently moved house and have put my Del Studio XPS 435MT upstairs.
My wireless router works fine with everything including laptops, mobile phones, xboxs, etc.
This computer had no problems connecting with a cable.
So I bought a USB wireless "dongle" no wireless networks detected, then I bought a pci-E card thinking it was a USB problem, same result.
I have never succesfully connected this to a wireless network apart from currently through my Android phone on a USB cable then through wifi to my router downstairs - therefore not a signal problem.
Also tried disabling DHCP fix, no change.
P.S. I have downloaded every update / driver that is supposed to work with VISTA 64 bit.
Please help.

andylumm,
Below are the only network adapters that I see. Did you recently reinstall the operating system?

The TP-Link is the one that isnt working.
Number 2 is my HTC Android phone which i am currently using to connect through my router to the internet.
Haven't touched operating system, apart from installed all current Windows updates.
I have disabled the Ethernet network card via the BIOS just incase it was casing the problem.

andylumm,
Power off your isp modem/router. Power off your wirelessr outer(if any). Wait 60 seconds, then power on the ISP modem/router. Wait 15 seconds, then turn on your wireless router(if any). Restart your computer. Try to connect wireless. What happens?
Is your wireless router using these Recommended Wireless Router Settings, I use channel 11?
Try running WinSock XP Fix, this works for Vista. Click on the fix button and see if it resets the Winsock values.
Windows Vista cannot obtain an IP address from certain routers or from certain non-Microsoft DHCP servers

Cheers for all the advice, finally fixed it.
Tried system restore, that had corrupted somewhere, so it "partly" restored and basically was a mess, ran slowly/didnt work.
Backed up essential stuff and used Dell factory image restore.
Instantly picked up wireless during setup and worked first time.
Basically something had messed up settings and I cant put my finger on it.
Possibly a virus/malware which i had not detected/removed but was only affecting Wireless and because i wasn't using it never noticed it.
I suppose you can say it is now "Solved."
