Patch up your Intel Centrino Wireless Driver now...or else!

Description from Intel:

Security vulnerabilities have been identified in the Microsoft* Windows* drivers for the Intel® 2200BG and 2915ABG PRO/Wireless Network Connection Hardware (w22n50.sys, w22n51.sys, w29n50.sys, w29n51.sys), which could potentially be exploited by attackers within range of the Wi-Fi station to execute arbitrary code on the target system with kernel-level privileges. These flaws are due to a memory corruption while parsing certain frames.

Affected products include: Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG with all prior driver versions to 10.5 and Intel PRO/Wireless 2915ABG with all previous 10.5 driver versions as well. Application versions affected include 8, 9, and 10.

Will Dell be releasing a Dell specific patch for this? Many of the articles say to check with the OEM. Can Dell users install the generic Intel patch?

it affects any wireless laptop that uses either the Intel 2200BG or 2915ABG wireless card and running all prior driver versions to 10.5.

My system has been working fine for a yr with no dropping of wireless connection or my wifi light hasnt been going out either. hmm, I never had the dropping connection in the past and certainly haven't experienced it with these new drivers.
