Physical address

Hi all,
I am very new to use computer, and I am using E521 Dell computer. I just wonder about Physical address, what is it?,how can I change it? When I use realtek card I can change it from Network address but with Broadcom card I can not find Network address colum from Property box of Configure/Advanced.
Any suggestion will be appreciated

IP.   is the number give to you the network,  normaly is set up for the service provider  (company you get the service or any web conetion  like intranet wherever) you need to b more especific about your problem

thanks,
If I use Realtek then i can change the value of network address in local area connection/property/configure/advanced/network address (12 letters)
this value i check again and see that it is considered as physical address.
however, for my new dell computer using broadcom, follow the same way above i can not see network address to change.
I really apprreaciate any suggestion in this group about this stuff
