WPA2 with Dell Wireless 1470 Dual Band WLAN Mini-PCI Card - NOT WORKING
I have a Dell Latitude D610 running Windows XP SP3 (x86). I am trying to connect to a WPA2-AES network, but Windows is not offering the choice to use WPA2 -- only standard WPA -- which does not allow a connection.
After some Googling, it seems XP SP3 comes with WPA2 support and therefore the culprit of my problems is likely witih the drivers for Dell's 1470 WLAN card.
I just downloaded the latest drivers I could find on Dell's site (R151517.EXE, R151518.EXE) neither of these worked. The driver provider is currently listed as "Broadcom" (not sure how that works if this is really a DELL driver...) and the version number is 4.100.15.5.)
I tried to run Dell's "Detect and find driver updates" tools, but after installing all their software, VB6 runtimes, etc. I was only greeted with a message that said "This feature is not available. Please go to this site and search for your drivers manually (i.e. what I could have been doing 30 minutes ago)
In summary, I just want to use WPA2 with this laptop as others have reportedly been able to do so.
Please help.
Adam
