woo having tons of trouble getting my xps gen 2 notebook set up on my home network

Ok i posted this in a different forum because i didnt know this one existed. Here is my problem : I want to reformat the 2 Desktop computers i have at my house but before i do i need to get data from them. Both of the desktops appear in My Network Places to eachother and they can both share files/printers etc. I ran the wizard on the notebook etc, set the workgroup etc, and it wont show tghe other 2 pcs. I try run -> \\NAME\ and it wont work either. It says its inaccessable or invalid path or something. The laptop is also not visible to the other 2 pcs. Windows Firewall has File and Printer Sharing exception checked and i'm not entirely sure how to do it in norton internet security (if that has anything to do with it). Help please, thanks.

Norton Internet Security will definitely block File and Printer sharing if it is not configured to allow it.  See the following:
