8024F & 8132F not in full duplex mode on 10G link

So I have this

interface Te1/0/5
description " vmnic3"
spanning-tree disable
spanning-tree portfast
mtu 9216
switchport mode trunk
exit

and when i check in ESX it shows that the interface is not in full duplex mode ?  My 1G links are but not my 10G links.

Try using the duplex full command and setting the 10G ports to full duplex. http://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_ser_stor_net/esuprt_powerconnect/powerconnect-8100_Reference%20Guide_en-us.pdf page 416

Yes I tired thatCLIi will not accept duplex once in trunk mode.

But it still shows up in the config

But once connected to server itdisappears

And the server shows it as non duplex...

Is the network showing collisions? 10G isn’t designed for half duplex, as that is a legacy 10/100 technology from when hubs were used. So if there are not collisions occurring then it might be misreporting the duplex.

No.

It very strange, I have just found all these minor glitches with the 8024F and 8132F's.

So basically a new set of switched (bought in the last 2 months) and 2 servers 2 R620, R720 with the 10G nics and esxi 5.5 all of them show  non duplex through ESX and on the switch they show up as duplex off ..

That is odd, as that no duplex isn’t a valid duplex method. It might have something to with autonegotiation not working properly .http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1004089
