PowerConnect 2848

Hello, I started working in this new company where they have 2 esxi servers in which there are a couple virtual servers and they are connected through the powerconnect 2848. The issue which I am having is that the esxi boxes and virtual servers are on a 172.30.34.x network and the Powerconnect is on a 172.30.32.x network. I have added a physical server to this to this rack and its function will be to get data from another VM, my issue is that since its a physical server, I have configured its NIC to the 172.30.32.x network so I can get from the powerconnect 2848 to the domain controller. The physical server needs to be on the 172.30.34.x network but when configure the NIC to that network I am not able to connect to the switch or any of the other VM's. How can I add a routing rule or configure something so that the new server can be on the 172.30.34.x network???

Thank you in advance!!!!!

Hi,

The 2848 is not a layer-3 switch and does not have routing features. You will have to route between the subnets on a layer 3 switch or a router.
