There is no standard for monitoring CPU usage via SNMP, it is left to the manufacturer to implement vendor specific counters but I am afraid we do not implement a vendor specific counter on our PowerConnect products.
One minor correction. We actually did implement CPU utilization monitoring parameters in SNMP on some of our newer switches such as the 34xx but we did not implement these parameters on the 5224.
You see, our users are complaining about an overall lack of performance on our Gbit network. And since I'm no specialist on that subject, I thought I'd start out with MRTG to check our PowerConnects and PowerEdges.
