Switching modes PowerConnect 2848
On a PowerConnect 2848 I want to switch from the default mode to managed mode. I've looked at the manual which explaines that this can be done by using the button on the front pannel. I'm just concerned that when I press the button and the switch is made everyone who is currently connected through this switch will be dropped. Is that the case? If so I need to do this off regular business hours.
Also, after I switch to managed mode, how to I assigin it an IP? Can I resreve it an IP in DHCP and allow the switch to grap its IP address that way?
Thank you,
Brian

According to page 61 in the user guide for this switch you can tell it to reterieve an IP from DHCP, but the default setting has DHCP disabled and uses a static IP.
Page 41 of the same user guide has a flow chart showing the setup of the device in managed mode. I don' t see anywhere that it explains if switching between modes will cause any downtime.
