Web Interface (6024F)

Is there a way to turn off the web interface on a 6024F? I am able to connect to the switch via telnet but it appears that the web interface is not working. Using a LAN scanner only ports 23(telnet) and 161(SNMP) are open.

Please confirm your proxy settings and temporarily disable the proxy for the client you are attempting to access the switch from.  In addition, please confirm IP connectivity by attempting to Telnet from the same client experiencing issues connecting via the web browser.

The nature of your issue is a bit unclear.  If you are attempting to access the web interface, please ensure the feature is enabled via the command ::

console# show ip http

This should indicate if HTTP is enabled and the port currently in use.  If the option is disabled, you  may enable the option with the following commands ::

console# configure
console(config)# ip http server

Then again, confirm the option is enabled and the port number used by HTTP.

console# show ip http

You should now be able to access the system via a browser.

The switch shows the http server being enabled when I issued the "sh ip http" command.

When attempting to connect to the switch I get the following message in my web browser:

The connection was refused when attempting to contact xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

I tried changing the port of the http server to 8080 and I received the following error message in my browser:

This document contains no data.

There are no access-lists on the switch in question.

I am not connecting through a proxy server. I am able to connect to the switch via telnet but not a web interface (the switch is located in NC, I'm in MA).

Internet --> Cisco Router --> NetEnforcer --> PowerConnect 6024F

I have 21 PowerConnect 3348's connected to the 6024F. I have had multiple individuals from our company try to connect to the switch via its web interface with no luck. I've also tried to connect to the switch from home but had the same problem.

I also have a computer directly connected to the PowerConnect 6024F and using GFI LANguard shows TCP ports 23 and 80 open as well as UDP port 161 open (when I scan using the switches internal ip address - 10.x.x.x). I can connect to the switch via telnet only from this computer.

Scanning the computer from outside of the network I only see port 23 open. I can also connect to the switch via telnet but not from a web interface.

This scenario sounds like the problem is related to your firewall or external router.

Are you only having problems accessing the web interface from a client on the external network (across the internet)? Can you access the web interface from a client on the internal network
(10.x.x.x)?

If this is the case, you need to verify that the port forwarding or NAT is configured properly on your router and/or firewall.
