connect a 3com hub to the switch
I have a problem. When I connect a 3com hub to the switch and disable dynamic addressing i cannot let the computers connected to that hub ping a computer connected to the switch. When I check in the port managers I see the link on that port is up but the admin is disabled when i enable it. It start learning and after this it get back disabled.
What can be wrong??

First, it would be helpful to know what PowerConnect switch we are dealing with - there are a number of features that vary across the switches, and could be impacting this issue.
Second, when you are disabling the dynamic addressing function on the port, are you then adding the MAC addresses of systems attached to the hub statically to the forwarding table?

Try checking 'Port Manager > Port Settings' and administratively enable the port. It should not go back to an administratively down state by itself, afterwards, if it's going administratively down.
If you continue to see problems, try moving one of the clients from the hub to connect directly to the switch, and see if we are able to get the connection to stay up.
