You don't need to reset to default.  There is a password recovery procedure in the switch.  You need to be connected to the serial interface on the switch for this to work.

• Connect to the serial interface on the switch (make sure you get the serial port configuration such as baud rate correct - if you see garbage or if the connection seems stuck try changing the baud rate on your serial console and find the one that would work for you.  Try 115200 or 9600 first then try some of the other ones if those don't work - this problem always come up if you don't remember what you set the baud rate to :-)).
• Now reset your switch (power it on/off).
• As the system boots you will see boot messages on console.  When you see a message that prompts you to hit "enter" or "esc" to get to the boot menu (you have only two seconds to hit enter here), go ahead and hit enter or esc.
• On the boot menu you will see the option to recover password.  Select the option then select "back" to continue booting.

This option basically cause the switch to not ask for password this one time after reboot.  You will be able to get to the CLI now and be able to change your password.  Once you update your password just reboot again to put the system back to normal.

NOTE: This only works if you have physical access to the switch via the serial interface!  This is a security feature.
