Dell Dimension 2400 RAM upgrade

I recently upgraded my memory on my Dell Dimension 2400 from 512 mb to 2gb ( entirely new sticks of memory) and when i attempt to start my computer I get a series of loud beeps and no video input. I have tried on stick at a time and I have re installed them to make sure the were seated properly. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

System Specs

2.5 ghz Pentium 4 processor

nVidia gt610 512mb graphics

512mb RAM

Hi orcacros,

Welcome to the Community.

Please let me know the specification of the new memory sticks. If you have purchased it from online store, please provide the link.

Is it booting with the old memory stick?

If it is booting with the old memory stick, please update the BIOS by clicking the link mentioned below:

Dell Dimension 2400 will support 266MHz or 333MHz memory modules. 200 MHz speed DDR modules are not supported.

Thanks & Regards

Reinstall the default memory and see if the 2400 boots without any issues, if it does, then it seem that the 2gb [2 x 1gb modules] is not compatible with Dimension 2400.
