XPS 730 Does not boot up correctly
First the hard drive crashed, that was replaced with minor problems, (the hard drive) and everything is working fine. While getting the hard drive I ordered 2-2GB ram. I installed the ram and started the system. As it should the system found new stuff and started installing. The first thing that got installed was (Realtek HD Audio Manager). Where did that come from? After all installations I restarted, the Dell page loads then I get a screen Stating (Phoenix-award bios v6. oopg) at the top of the screen. In the middle of the screen there is (Floppy Disc (S) Fail (40) Alert audio cable not found). On the bottom of the screen there is (Press F1 to continue, F2 to enter setup. Pressing F2 does bring you to the F2 setup page but apon exiting you are brought right back to the problem. If you press F1 everything proceeds as normal with no operating problems. My question- How do I solve this and where did Realtek come from??

The first thing is you introduced a second potential problem by installing the new RAM first. As your problem was with the hard drive, the firs thing that should have been done is to install the new hard drive, reinstall all the software and then after all is working OK THEN install the new memory.
Obviously the BIOS (Setup) has been reset and the reason you are getting the Realtek notice and the F1/F2 issue. If you are not using the Integrated Audio (Realtek) it needs to be disabled in the BIOS. Same way with the floppy diskette, disable it in the BIOS. And, when you make the changes in the BIOS save the changes when you exit so you won't have the same errors the next time. The Dell manual details each item in the BIOS (setup). Since you reinstalled the Dell manual is gone. HERE is the on-line manual. There is a separate section on "configuring the BIOS".

Thanks for the reply, let me try to state this better.
I replaced the hard drive and reloaded everything, the system was functioning fine. The additional ram came in 2 days later, I shut down system, unpluged power, held power buttem for 15-20 sec. I then installed the additional ram & powered up the unit.
I did not change anything in the Bios. My system does not have a floppy nor is that option availabe in the Bios. The Realtek problem seams to be gone for now. I would remove the program but it would try and reinstall when I restarted the system. Realtek is also not an option in the Bios. I find nothing in the manuel that applies.
If I can give you any additional information to help me solve this Please let me know.
