Dell OM Nagios plugins - UNKNOWN status VRTX Chassis I/O Module Status

Plugins version 2.1

Device PowerEdge VRTX chassis

Command "Dell EMC Chassis I/O Module Status"

Results:

#1 Status = UNKNOWN, FQDD = iom1, FabricType = Ethernet, IPv4Address = xx.xx.xx.xx, LaunchURL = http://xx.xx.xx.xx, Name = R1-2210 VRTX 10Gb Switch, PartNumber = 00GXGF, Slot = A

It read the details of the I/O but status is UNKNOWN.  Any idea?

Hi,

I am guessing that "RACADM" might not be installed on your Nagios server. Can you please just run the command "racadm" on your Nagios server and see if it is installed?

Also, would it be possible for you to run the following commands and send us the log file so that we can take a look at this issue that you are facing:

(1) perl /usr/local/nagios/dell/scripts/dell_check_chassis.pl  -H " "  -F " " -i "io" -l 1

For e.g., if 192.168.1.1 is your CMC IP address, then:

perl /usr/local/nagios/dell/scripts/dell_check_chassis.pl  -H "192.168.1.1"  -F "/usr/local/nagios/dell/config/objects/192.168.1.1.cfg" -i "io" -l 1

(2) And send us the log file "/usr/local/nagios/var/dell/ChassisServices_ .dbg"

Thanks,

Anupam

Thank you for the suggestion.  The Nagios machines has no RACADM installed.   I will look into it later and update again.

Happy New Year.

Finally, I had time to catch up with this issue.

After RACADM installed, it is ok now.  Results as shown below.

#1 Status = OK, FQDD = iom1, FabricType = Ethernet, IPv4Address = 10.138.175.129, LaunchURL = http://10.138.175.129, Name = R1-2210 VRTX 10Gb Switch, PartNumber = 00GXGF, Slot = A

Hi Rick,

Happy new year 2018 to you too !

I am glad that you were able to get it working after RACADM installation. In future version of the plugin, we are planning to get rid of the dependency on RACADM but for the time being it is required for certain monitoring use cases.

Please feel free to write in if you need any help.

Thanks,

Anupam
