OpenManage 9.1.0 not connecting to ESXi 6.7

Hi,

I have installed the OM-SrvAdmin-Dell-Web-9.1.0-2757.VIB-ESX65i_A00.zip on a ESXi 6.7 version.

Then I upgraded my OMSA on Windows 10 to 9.1.0 and I'm still able to connect to ESXi 5.5 version using old VIBs (8.4 or 8.5) and I'm no able to connect to the recent ESXi.

Is there something else that we need to do?

I've checked the "Ignore Certificate Warnings" checkbox and it takes a long time and does nothing...

Will the forthcoming OM 9.2 support ESXi 6.7 on older Dell platforms like R710?

Hello all, I searched for this on Google again today, and found this post: https://vinfrastructure.it/2018/08/dell-emc-omsa-vsphere-6-7-vib/, which then links to: https://www.dell.com/support/home/en/en/itbsdt1/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=6nmf1. So looks like Dell OMSA VIB v9.1.1 for ESXi 6.7 was already released all the way back in May 2018! Hope this helps others too :)

EDIT: so i went through pages 2,3,4 of this thread, and saw that the dell link i posted above actually has been mentioned a few times before, and i guess one of the issues is that only PowerEdge R840 & R940xa models are listed under compatible systems. so that might be an issue for anyone who wants to run it on any other server models besides those specific ones listed :/

I installed OMSA 9.1.1 on my R710 host and my sensors still do not show as being supported in ESXi.

OMSA has nothing to do with sensors or storage status shown as unknown, that is a driver related problem.

I have a Dell Perc H700 and a FusionIO 320 GB and the Storage Status is shown unknown also for the FusionIO even if I have installed the official Sandisk VIB drivers.

The only problem that I have with OMSA not working on vSphere 6.7 is that every time I have to add an hard drive I have to create the vdisk using the H700 utility during boot and every time I have to shut down all my vms and reboot the server.

Except this everything is working as usual without issues at all.

We're all waiting for the "mid-October" OM 9.2 release. More importantly, we're all waiting for documentation about what platforms will be supported. Will the R710 be supported with OM9.2 and ESXi 6.7?

Any ideas when this will be available? ESXi 6.7 has been out for quite awhile and we are past "mid-October".

Is this the OMSA 9.2 we have been waiting for?

Hi, Kindly traverse through product support page i.e., Browse All products > Servers > PowerEdge > Select the appropriate Server > Drivers & Downloads. Please find below details of OMSA v9.2.0 for following ESXi ESXi 6.5 U2 ::

 ESXi 6.7 :: https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/drivers/driversdetails?driverId=4H69M Thanks, Kavyashree R

So does this mean that OMSA 9.2.0, along with a VMware ESXi 6.7 VIB for servers, such as 12th generation PowerEdge servers, is now available for download?

I updated my OMSA on ESXi using the 9.2.0 one, and the health of my storage sensors and some system sensors still shows up as "Unknown". I guess we are SOL on unsupported servers.

Makes sense. If I am having storage sensor issues, which driver do you think I need to update? RAID?
