3060 Micro, M.2 SSD, include a 2.5" drive caddy?

I am thinking of buying an Optiplex 3060 Micro with a 256GB M.2 SSD, but obviously I would need to use a second HD for storage and wanted to see if this version included the 2.5" drive caddy required, or is Dell leaving it out to penny-pinch? I ask because all the tear-down videos and articles involve a model with either a 2.5" drive or SSD already installed, and although the user manual clearly shows the 2.5" drive caddy in there to "add a HD", I would like to be sure, as these 3060-compatible models seem to be impossible to find online. I asked a Dell rep and they don't seem to know if it would or not be shipped on an M.2 system.

Thanks.

Hi Da_Vinman,

I can confirm that the 3060 Micro ships from the factory with the caddy fitted, regardless of whether a 2.5" drive is included in the order or not.

Thanks.

You sound like someone who likes to do upgrades.

I suggest you also consider the 3060 SFF. It's slightly bigger (but still very small).

The Micros are real tiny. I think really just laptops without screens. They likely work better (stay cool, etc) with small processors and only a M.2/NVMe-SSD.

As far as your Dell purchasing decision ... maybe someone will know but I personally would not let it sway-me one-way-or-the-other. There are too many other more important factors to consider.

Thank you very much for the confirmation.

It really makes no sense otherwise (as the upgrade manual shows the part) and those who buy a system with a HD can easily upgrade using M.2. But with 2018 production economics in place, I wanted to confirm.

Just a note that this answer has been physically confirmed, and the blue 2.5" caddy/adapter is present on my received Optiplex 3060 Micro w/ M.2 SSD system, so big kudos to DELL-Alasdair R for coming through with the proper answer.

I have an Optiplex 3060 here, arrived with a 3.5 hdd and I need to install a 2.5 ssd. Where should the caddy be? I can't find it anywhere, neither inside the box nor inside the computer
