7010 MT Wavlink CSR 4.0 Driver, Win10 Pro

I recently reloaded my PC.  The CD for the CSR Harmony 4.0 driver got scratched and doesn't work.  CD came with Wavlink Bluetooth dongle I bought in Dec. 2018.

I've been trying to work with Wavlink on this.  They keep sending me links from other sites that don't work.  I can't just keep downloading 400+MB files.  One was a .rar file that my PC can't open.

Meanwhile, I bought a new dongle to have a new CD.  The driver is terrible.  Music thru bluetooth headphones sounds a little gargled like from a partially wrinkled cassette tape.  2018 driver was perfect.

I know it's the driver because I initially downloaded a Realtek audio driver that made music to stereo sound tinny.  I then found the correct driver by adding in my PC in Google search bar and downloaded it from Dell.  It works great.

So, I'm coming here for any new ideas.  Hopefully somebody knows something that works.

Many thanks.

most modern Bluetooth adapters are plug and play.

Ever since the Bluetooth KNOB problem vendors have been abandoning support for older models.

Thats why you get

https://www.amazon.com/USB-Bluetooth-Adapter-PC-Headphones/dp/B08G1QXGYP

For native Win 10, plug into USB port and driver will be auto-installed.

Bluetooth vulnerability can be exploited in Key Negotiation of Bluetooth (KNOB) attacks

Microsoft's response to this is to DISABLE vendors that do not re write drivers.

I know Wavlink isn't Dell.  Wavlink doesn't have a community forum.

Also, I've tried their website and the driver isn't there.  Many drivers there for WiFi dongles though.

Dongle model is WL-BT4001.

And I've tried ebay to see if somebody had the 2018 CD for sale.

SOLVED:  Plug & Play worked.  With the dongle plugged in, this time, I clicked the arrow on my taskbar to find the hidden bluetooth icon and went from there.  Ta dah!!   And speedstep gets an "Accepted Solution."
