780, (X4500 or X4500HD)?
Hi There,
i have searched everywhere to look for an answer for Dell Optiplex 780 in what the correct integrated Graphic is.
In Wikipedia, i read Chipset GMA X4500 is used in G43 Chipset, where as GMA X4500HD is used in G45 Chipset
I compared with the spec manual, this model is running G45's chipset but when i checked the Graphic card, it showed GMA X4500.
It is quite different for X4500 and X4500HD in HD playback, can anyone confirm which is the correct integrated Graphic in this model?

It was never a gaming system and the Intel Q43/Q45/G43/G45/G41 are all the same driver with all sizes of 780 using Intel Q45 Express Chipset w/ICH10DO

I just need to know, optiplex 780 is x4500HD or just gma x x4500?

There is higher power (Clocked) version.
This is over 12 years old now. Its not current.

THIS SHOULD NOT BE CONFUSED WITH INTEL HD GRAPHICS aka CORE I3 I5 I7 graphics. Its not the same. Its not INTEL HD 4500 its INTEL GMA 4500.

The Q is the 17W not the 24W so its NOT HD.
They are BOTH Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 4500 10 shaders @ 533 MHz

It replaced the Directx9 GMA 900 series.

The Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD (sometimes also called GMA X4500 HD or other combinations) is a DirectX 10 capable onboard graphics adapter in the GM45, GE45 and GS45 chipset of the Centrino 2 platform (Montevina).
The chip has no dedicated graphics memory. It steals ram from the system. You do not recover this shared system ram if you add a PCI-E graphics card.
