Can Dell Optiplex 790 support 4TB HDD (Storage only, not boot)?

Hi

I have an old Dell Optiplex 790 machine with a 250gb HDD with Windows 10 64 bit on. This is all remaining. I'm just looking to get a large drive for storage only.

Can the Dell 790 support >2TB drives, specifically a 4tb drive?

My Bios information in SystemInfo is saying,

BIOS Version: Dell Inc. A18, 24/09/2013

There appears to be a spare power connector from the PSU, spare SATA cable and 3 spare SATA slots (not sure if any are 6 gb/s but 3 gb/s would be fine).

Just want to check before I go buying anything if 4TB would be 'ok' or if this is an absolute no go?

I assume I just need to set GPT on the drive/ 'Convert to GPT disk'?

Yes you can install 4TB HDD with GPT partition.  the 2TB limit was for MBR partition.

4tb drive with X1 host bus adapter works. or seagates software driver for their drives only.

GPT partitions require UEFI Class 2.3.1 bios.

The Rocket 620 works with any drive.

Specifically OEM Western Digital Rocket 620 card

as seen in this video with an optiplex
