Can't get 4k output on Optiplex 7070 Micro
I have a Dell Optiplex 7070 with Intel Core i5-9500T. Running Intel Graphics Driver 26.20.100.7372. It's connected to a LG OLED55B7 which is a 4k TV. It is connected via Display Port to HDMI cable that supports 4k https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00Z05JMKO/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_i_cNFWDbM1TRKK6 But I'm not getting the option for 4k in Windows settings, nor in Intel Graphics Command Center.

@Xiao Kai looking at the specs for the 7070 micro, the system runs the Intel UHD 630 graphics with the system offering DP1.2 and HDMI 2.0 connections.
According to Intel's specs for that graphics chipset it should be able to run 4K over DP1.2 @ 60Hz or via HDMI @ 30Hz
Connecting the Optiplex directly to the TV via an HDMI to HDMI cable or a DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable should allow the system to output a 4K resolution.
Can I ask why you are using a DisplayPort to HDMI adaptor rather than HDMI to HDMI? I suspect the issue here may be your adaptor cable and the difference in technologies used.

@Xiao Kai that makes sense.
Looking at Intel's troubleshooting for unable to output 4k resolution their final step is :-
Disconnect any video adapters/converters/hub and use a straight HDMI 2.0 or DP 1.2 connection instead.
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000023945/graphics-drivers.html
As you are running the latest graphics driver on the system that would suggest the adaptor cable is the issue here. As we have not tested this 3rd party product we cannot confirm its compatibility or functionality.
For this system we offer a Dell DisplayPort to HDMI adaptor p/n 9KWG4 - ADPT,CON,DNGL,DPTOHDMI2.0
Alternatively you could add an HDMI port to system. It would involve physically removing the plastic blanking panel from the chassis below the network port. For this you require p/n 5N1NY. Please be aware that this will only output at 30Hz compared to 60Hz via DP

Hi
Thank you for your reply.
I am using a DP to HDMI cable that is capable of 4k. (Link posted on the first post)
The TV only has HDMI and does not have DP.
The OptiPlex 7070 Micro only had DP and does not have HDMI.

@Xiao Kai it's an alternative version of this cable. The part numbers are interchangeable - https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-adapter-displayport-to-hdmi-20-4k/apd/492-bbxu/pc-accessories?ref=p13n_ena_pdp_vv&c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs

Hi Alan
Thanks
The problem was the adapter I had.
I bought this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00S0C7QO8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
As the https://www.dell.com/en-uk/shop/dell-adaptor-displayport-to-hdmi-20-4k/apd/492-bbxu/tv-home-theater
was twice the cost.
Also using a High-Speed HDMI cable rated for 4k 60hz
Thanks

above you show a HDMI add on port (optional on 7070's)
how do I get them?
we got a bunch of 7070's in that were supposed to have the additional ports...they were shipped without them and I want to add them.
specifically, I want to add the optionial DP port, but I would take the above if that's all I can get!!!
thanks!

@cleatus45 if the systems were shipped incorrectly, did you not take this up with your account manager?
For the add in card themselves, you would need to contact your sales department or tech support in your country.. I have quoted the details you require above in the previous post. AsI outlined, you need to physically cut away the blanking plate in the chassis to fit the card.
When you say you wan't to add the additional DP port, do you not mean HDMI port? The system ships as standard with a DisplayPort.
