Dell 7020 max hdd
OptiPlex 7020
Hello!
I have a Dell OptiPlex 7020 MT PC, and I would be interested in whether it is possible to put a 2tb hdd on it, and will it work?
According to the machine's data sheet, the maximum is 1tb, but i wonder, if it accept 2tb as well.
This pc have:
i5-4690s, 8gb ddr3(soon 16gb), Nvidia Quadro T400 2gb, 250gb Samsung 850 evo, 500gb Seagate hdd
(sorry my bad english :D)

You're welcome to try it. It's not unusual for storage specs to be exceeded in some somewhat older/older Dell's. If by chance it doesn't work, it won't break anything.
Though at least a few years old by now, make sure you have the latest BIOS that's for the 7020 if not already.

All drive sizes work fine on 7020. 2TB drives are the max that support Legacy MBR aka Windows XP, VISTA , 7 non secure boot.
Past 2TB requires Windows 8, 10, 11 with GPT UEFI booting.
The only limit to drive size on these models and newer is how much you are willing to spend for a drive.

The EXADRIVE 100TB SSD $40,000 drive fits and works fine.

Hi @redxps630,
What I would like to know is how come I couldn't get userbenchmark to show me a 7020 build with 2TB HDD. I tried before posting my 1st reply.
