Dell Optiplex 3070 SFF PSU and GPU upgrade
Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to upgrade the GPU in my Dell Optiplex 3070 SSF. I would like to try and put a GeForce GTX 1660 inside of it. To do this I would have to upgrade the PSU. Would the Optiplex even fit a 1660? And if so what PSU can I upgrade to to allow the power that the 1660 requires.
Thanks,

You would be hard pressed to find any SFF psu that provides 8 pin power connector required by 1660. This means to install 1660 you have to install a 450W psu outside case, not elegant. You also need a 24 to 6 pin adapter for 3070 motherboard. Once you install psu out of case, you may install a double slot short gpu in case. but for SFF you need a low profile card, which is difficult to find in 1660.
1660 is a 120W-130W video card that generates good amount of heat for closed SFF case. You might as well leave case open to help facilitate heat dissipate.

The Optiplex 3070 Spec Sheet has a short list of compatible GPU's.
