Page #127 on the service manual shows the 24-pin combination like this:

*Use 22-AWG wire instead of 18-AWG wire.

Take orange as example, pinned at 1, 2, 12 & 13 which matched with what the service manual described.

Best policy: locate the original part number from label of the old PSU and find exactly the same one for replacement.

You can get a new tower for the cost of windows alone.

The reason to get a tower is so that you can buy a regular power supply when it fails.

Again, locate the original part number from label of the old PSU. It should be a Dell P/N with 5-digit.

Hi the Tower model is bulky also the CPU is not as fast as my SFF PC, I want to check the PSU is fully healthy I tried the PSU power tester in the market but it look they made to test the standard 24PIN connector, then I noted the 24PIN connector I have may not be standard as wire color does not match PINs as if they are misaligned.

Hi, The P1 connector I have has different colour connectors to PINs as if misaligned for example the yellow wires that should connect to PIN 10 and 11 are connected to PIN 7 and 19, this is problem that I cannot use standard PSU to replace the power neither PSU power tester, what shall I do?

And you still didn't mentioned what the part number is.

that is the MT psu  in photos, the motherboards and PSU are different for sure the small SFF with a stepped psu.

nobody has the PSU pin out  on his SFF 960.

google searches give no clues.

Hi, this SFF PC was build in 2009, the photo of P1 connector is for this 960 SFF PC also the details of the PSU I copied from that on stickers at the PSU, there suppose to be Green wire connected that I cannot find some one has pointed an arrow to where it should be.Yes I know the details on the SFF start after page 100 and PSU at page 133, was the numbers I send of any help?thank you very much. 

Dell does not provide pin outs or diagrams for anything anywhere ever.

A standard power supply won't physically plug into the connector so the point is moot.

This is also why I posted a picture of the moddiy adapter.

For NON TOWER models you could use a standard power supply outside the case and run the wires inside via the hole left behind by the removed defective power supply.

This would be ugly but it would work.

Not sure if we're on the same PDF. But if yes, please check it again:

• Page #45~47 - PSU info of 960 DT
• Page #86~88 - PSU info of 960 MT
• Page #126~129 - PSU info of 960 SFF

And do have pages before #133 related with 960 SFF, for example page #102 talking about SFF computer cover. Please correct me if anything wrong.

I do find a clue from part number provided by you, @draly, and thank you! Same PSU found in Amazon, CPUMedics and AliExpress, and all with the same color cable allocation as yours. Then I figure out the reason of the difference: The one mentioned in the service manual is a 240w PSU, while draly's PSU is a 235w PSU. That means you don't really need to care much about the cable color but just find a PSU with the correct part number.

Meanwhile, we usually talks about the 5-digit number as Dell parts number but not those you provided.

For your further question about PSU checking tools, I'm afraid no such tools available, nether from BIOS Diagnostic nor SupportAssist on Windows, unless you got a setup like Tom's Hardware. However, what leads you to the thoughts of deffective PSU? Is your 960 SFF being unstable or BSOD or unexpected shutdown recently? Any new hardware added? For example, if you add a new GPU which recommendation to work with a 300w PSU, you may still able to logon to Windows but gone critical and even auto reboot/shutdown when GPU on loading.
