Keyboard lags, skips and stops intermittently
I upgraded to Windows 11 in my brand new Optiplex 7090 . I used my "disable caps lock " file from windows 10. Now my keyboard is erratic. Sometimes lagging, skipping or hangs up with nothing. I have been resorting to an onscreen keyboard which is a temp use of my computer. How do i restore the factory default.? The mouse works fine, Both keyboard and mouse are wireless.. In the device manager I only see 3 HID entries.
Puzzling.

It might just be something like a dying battery in your keyboard, radio frequency interference, etc. If you have a wired keyboard it'd be worth substituting it as a test. (Do the keyboard and mouse share a receiver?)
If your "'disable caps lock' file" is a .reg file to add a "Scancode Map" value to the registry, it looks like the procedure is the same in Windows 10 and 11; if so, it seems doubtful that's the cause.

I was finally able to get the disable caps lock key regedit file working properly. Now, if i can figure out why my keyboard entries lag or stop occasionally.
