OPTIPLEX 7090 MFF - WORKS WITH SOME MONITORS AND NOT OTHERS

We have a shipment of this model device.  We've noticed so far on about 10 of them, that the cpu works fine on newer monitors, but not with older monitors.  We've swapped DP cables, we've tried different power cords, upgraded bios, It has the Intel UHD Grahics 630 display adapter.  The 7090 has 2 DP ports, no other type to plug in to test.    Has anyone else seen or heard of such an issue?

I know this thread is a bit stale now. Just wonding if you've had any luck fixing this?

We've also had this issue with the 2 of the 8 OptiPlex 7090 MFF we ordered last year. One of the 7090's was connected to a slightly older Dell Monitor and an older BenQ monitor. We've only had one occurrence of the issue on this machine.

The one we've had 2 or 3 occurrences with is using monitors that we purchased at the same time. We've tried different DP cables. Usually we have to resort to turning everything off unplugging everything from the 7090 including power. Plugging the monitors back in and turning them on and then powering the 7090 on.

Have just installed the 1.7.0 BIOS Update from May which hopefully fixes this issue.

Originally thought it was the same issue as the link below but have not confirmed this.

Did you test the older monitors DP input using a good 7090 MFF (one that works on both new and old monitors)?

The monitors do not work on old or most new devices on the 7090's.

We did get it to work long enough on one to update bios, do diagnostics, and update drivers, but it still did not resolve the issue when moved to other monitors.  The monitors work fine on older desktops.

Have you tried both DP port of 7090 MFF?

multiple users reported new 7090 tower top DP not working https://www.dell.com/community/Optiplex-Desktops/Optiplex-7090-Tower-Display-Port-to-Dell-S2440L-Monitor-HDMI-not/td-p/8064304

We have tried both versions of DP cables, drivers, bios update, and the only monitors we've seen it work on are the p24##h devices.  And that's not all the time.  We also tried both ports with little to no success.

I am suspecting 7090 bios has bugs that await Dell update fixes.

These were all new devices right out of the box of 150 devices ordered.

If they are all brand new and presumably have same version of bios, but only some have no video out of DP ports when connected to certain monitor, and the monitor/cable verified working, then the working diagnosis is these units are defective and Dell should replace them.

We've only opened them as we are processing and so far, its been all of the ones we've opened.

If all opened units have no video from DP, that does not sound good for Dell.  Chat w Dell on line and set up a tech on site service visit.

Any models have separate graphics cards in addition to integrated Intel? If so, use the card connections, not the integrated ones. You cannot use the integrated ports if there is a card. Cards must be physically removed from the motherboard to use the integrated ports. You cannot use both at the same time.

This is a micro, no room except for integrated graphic card.

How do I upload the information I have on what we've done? Anyone know.  Dell's person has been helpfull as handles on an ice skating rink.

see above...
1.7.0 bios is helping, but we still have devices going to sleep.  We've turned off sleep mode on them.  It helps some, but noticed that with more than 2 usb ports used, it tends to happen more often.  I'd figure there may be another bios update coming to fix that issue.
