OptiPlex 7060 Mini Tower - Replacing the PSU

Hi

I want to add separate GPU on my Dell OptiPlex 7060 Mini Tower  but this require extra power than provided by the installed 260-watt PSU.

Is it possible to upgrate the PSU with more powerful maybe 350-400-500W, and if is possible, where can find this unit to buy it.

Thanks for any help!

Dell 360w psu (6+4 white pin) is the top dell oem psu for this model.

L360EGM-00, H360EGM-00

but the one quoted in 1st answer is probably not the correct one, sorry chino.  For the same reason below.  The correct 360w psu has 6+4 pin, not 6+4+4 pin.  Dell makes it confusing.  And vendors are often unscrupulous of their listing description.  do not  take vendor’s description to the bank.  They are often although not always incorrect.

what makes it more confusing is that the same DP/N of Dell psu may have either 6+4 or 6+4+4 pin.  That is really terrible.  I suspect some psu maker put the wrong Dell psu label on their product.

compare this one with this other one quote by chino, both have same DP/N VM8KR, but the 1st one has 6+4 pin, and the second has 6+4+4 pin.

6+4 pin VM8KR

I believe only the 1st one works for 7060, and the second one may not work.  I think the second one works for 7080/7090 only.  See below.

based on user feedback, unfortunately the 500w psu quoted (6+4+4 pin) is only good for 7080/7090 and their siblings of same class (5080/3080/5090/3090).  That psu is not going to work for 7060 based on all the evidences in community.
The difference between 7060 and 7080/7090 is that the latter has two 4 pin cpu sockets on motherboard, whereas 7060 has one only.  Therefore the 500w psu which has two 4 pin cpu connector installed in 7060 would have one of the two hanging in air, which causes a post error.  Although there might be a way to go around this error, it has not been validated yet.

Yw. Here is one I am 99.9% sure will work for OP 7060.  A fair market price of 49.99 based on sale record.  I have seen vendor charge 2x that price which is a rip off.

Working or not, I still want to thank you for pointing that out.  Only did a quick search on the bay and pointing OP to whichever match the machine, new, and returnable..

ask seller for an actual pic of psu to verify connectors are as described

shipping is unfortunately expensive.

A little suspicious as they show same stock but are located in two states.

Not a little suspicious.  To me, they are definitely scammer sites with purposes of collecting personal and financial information.  You can tell by verify the contact info and all posted merchandises are duplications using site grabbers taken from other merchants, including Amazon.

You are better off with buyer protection from the bay.

hi, i've been thinking about this same prob. my rig was a 7060 that i painstakingly case swapped... a few adapters where needed...$$$$$ and light case mod or 2. just to play some dope games with a gpu... i had fun tho.

anyway, im thinking get two of the same psu.. one for cpu/mobo etc one for the gpu.

cheap mining cpu to gpu cables should get it done pretty easy..      heck ill through a 1660s at it!  i still got like 10.

...smdh.

ill let ya know...       optiflex for life!
