Optiplex 380, ram issue, led 3-4 and beep

Hello everyone,

I have an issue with a Optiplex 380. On start up I have the error of the lights 3 and 4 that are lighted up. Moreover, I have a beeping sound that accompanies it. Following some research I saw that it could be some bad memory placement. I removed the Ram (I have only one in it) replaced it and it worked for some minutes then after restart the issue was still there. I think that my Ram may be damaged. I plan on buying a new one. If it is not the case and that it is the slot that is not working correctly, is there a way to modify the main slot to the second one? In the picture below in red the main slot, in blue secondary.

Thanks a lot for your help

NigmaChris,

What is the beep code? I would first power off, disconnect the power cable from the rear of the 380. Insert the memory into the blue slot, reconnect the power cable and turn on. Do you get the same LEDs and beep?

Click the link below to download the online manual for Ram Configuration and specs. Unfortunately, you cannot modify the slots.
