Optiplex 5090 Wake On Lan not working WOL
Anyone else having trouble with Wake on LAN WOL for the Optiplex 5090?
I have done everything in their steps.
I have ensured Deep Sleep is disabled in the BIOS.
I have also disabled S5 and S4 settings in the BIOS.
I have turned on the "WOL from LAN" in the BIOS
I have setup disable the Fast Boot in Windows
I have changed power settings to Allow Magic Packets to turn on device on the network card.
I have turned off Energy Efficient settings on the network card.
When I shutdown, my network lights are still on and flashing, like its ready to accept a WOL packet.
I have the latest and greatest BIOS and Drivers. I also tried the latest Intel Network drivers. (Intel I219-LM)
I have also tried it with lower BIOS versions.
Nothing seems to work. My previous Optiplex 3060's work fine with WOL.

Working now. Make sure you have a good and working WOL tool.
I believe LanSweeper, my WOL tool, did not fully get the details. So I put LSAgent on it, so then it populated all the data of the PC. Then after that, it worked fine from Lansweeper. Also got a new Tool called Wake On LAN by Aquila and that worked well.

Just an FYI, I could replicate the issue and found out:
I can load a new, fresh Windows 10 21h2 Image
Setup network adaptor to do POE with some changes.
Run a script to fix BIOS.
"c:\program files (x86)\dell\command configure\x86_64\cctk.exe" --AcPwrRcvry=Last
"c:\program files (x86)\dell\command configure\x86_64\cctk.exe" --deepsleepctrl=disable
"c:\program files (x86)\dell\command configure\x86_64\cctk.exe" --blocksleep=disabled
"c:\program files (x86)\dell\command configure\x86_64\cctk.exe" --wakeonlan=LanOnly
"c:\program files (x86)\dell\command configure\x86_64\cctk.exe" --cstatesctrl=disable
"c:\program files (x86)\dell\command configure\x86_64\cctk.exe" --blocks3=enable
"c:\program files (x86)\dell\command configure\x86_64\cctk.exe" --autoon=weekdays
"c:\program files (x86)\dell\command configure\x86_64\cctk.exe" --autoonhr=7
"c:\program files (x86)\dell\command configure\x86_64\cctk.exe" --autoonmn=0
Turn off the PC.
WOL does not work.
I go in and edit one setting in BIOS (any setting, doesn't matter), and revert it, save it.
Computer restarts and then I turn it off manually.
Then WOL works.
So it’s weird that I must enter the BIOS once again and do a save on anything, and the settings stick and makes it work.

Going through the boards here, I see others with issues with similar models.
I even double checked the guide here
This isn't my first time doing this. Seems to be an issue with Dell hardware! Frustrating!

I've yet to try this. Perhaps some merit in the packet issue claim?

Right, I seem to have temporarily solved the issue for one of my machines (will try the other tomorrow) by....
Installing the driver and PROSet from here
Then ensuring all the Advanced settings in the driver are as per the other guides floating around on the community - so Energy Efficient Ethernet to Off, Wake Options are enabled / forced.
I hope it helps.
P.S. Running Windows 10 Pro 21H2 and it's a Optiplex Micro.

Thx yes I did try the Proset and did change settings but still no luck unfortunately. I saw that post earlier this morning already I have the SFF 5090. Thx for the tip tho.
Hopefully the ticket I have open can solve it...
50 paperweights I would be returning...

Same issue here on my SFF 5080. I thought it started with Windows 11 upgrade and now considering going back to Windows 10 but I see it may not be the problem? Tired of having to wait 5seconds for network to connect when I wake PC.

Did your 2nd tower do the same thing and work?
Dell says they can't replicate my issue
