Optiplex 7050 mt psu upgrade
Hey. I was wondering if I could possibly upgrade the 240w psu to a 300w psu in my computer? If I can go higher than that (400 - 500w ) that's nice. I personally don't mind a giant box with a fan sticking out of my computer case. Thanks a lot.

These Dell psu can fit 7050 tower case. They have 6+4+4 white connector. You need to use only one of the 2x4 pin white connector for cpu in 3080. They also have 6+6 pin black pcie connectors.

Okay that's good to know. What would be the cheapest or the one that gets the most bang for the buck (I need cad prices)
Edit: are any of these on like amazon or something? Just wanting to know

On your other discussion of 7050 mt case swap, the Dell 360w psu w one black pcie on eBay for 29.99 is best deal I am aware of. The Dell 460/500 w psu are over priced due to low supply high demand currently.

You said you didn’t mind psu outside case. You can use a standard 500w ATX psu plus a 24 to 6 pin adapter (Amazon) for Dell. EVGA has good deal on 500w psu on Amazon currently.

Is this a direct fit into the 7050 mini tower, or does it need to be wrestled in on an angle?

Again, is this a direct fit for a 7050 MT? No "making it fit"? Please let me know.

Thank you for your help. I bought a Y7R0X 500w to replace the 240W PSU in Optiplex 7050. The initial PSU has two connectors (P1 6 pin, and P2 4 pin). Y7R0X has more connectors (P1 6 pin, P2 4 pin, P4 4 pin, P3 and P5 6 pin). I connect the P1 and P2 of Y7R0X to where the initial P1 and P2 were connected to.
However, I am having issues. The computer could not turn on. The fans started and then stopped in a few seconds. I could unplug and replug several times, and then the fans could stay on. The power button kept flashing yellow. The manual seems to indicate not enough power.
This is quite strange since I am replacing 240W with 500W. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I bought a 5K7J8 500w Delta amd it fit well. I connected one of the four pin white, and the six pin white plugs. The PC will not come on. The power button blinks amber twice. I tried the other white 4 pin; same thing. I put the old PSU back in and it fires right up. Any thoughts?

what about the 4 pin connector? Is that a standard CPU connector?

Okay so it's been a while but I have another question.
Does the 7050 mt have a m.2 slot and can I install a m.2 ssd? I need to upgrade because my 1tb hard drive is a bit to slow for gaming and downloading things. And yes I have an 125gb ssd as a boot drive but it's too small of a storage space to download.
