keep in mind you have to jumper between the screw holes for the error to go away.
I do not recommend jumper with NO heatsink.

Looks like this would be the one that we are looking for.

Yes, I did installed the heatsink. It was a perfect fit.
I bought the heatsink from Taobao with a help from a chinese colleague. I did not buy the one in Amazon because of the expensive import duties and shipping cost. The one from Taobao (including the shipping fee) was way cheaper from the one from Amazon.
Here is the Taobao link, if anybody is interested.

There is no option for Optiplex 7080 SFF but choose the option 3440 (it's for the Precision 3440 and just the same for Optiplex 7080 SFF). The vr heatsink for 7080 MT is different from the vr heatsink of the 7080 SFF.

Hi all!
My stock i7 7080 already HAS the VR heat sink factory installed - after 1 week of running the new machine after taking it out of the box, suddenly I get the “VR heatsink” error. It’s there - it’s tight - any ideas?
My thoughts are maybe Dell Command Update (or whatever they are calling it this week) attempted to update the BIOS and it failed…
If not that, I have no clue how it can suddenly think the existing heatsink isn’t there…

The easiest way to solve this is to bridge both screw bases with a cable. Runs

Here's how I did mine. The heat sinks are $30 each, and wire and screws are free.
