Optiplex 755 cpu compatibility??
Hey guys, all I need to know is one thing, what is the BEST performing (for gaming) cpu that I can upgrade my optiplex 755 (biggest model) to, I have the model with 8gb of ddr2 ram. Is it a pentium or a core 2 quad and, please list the top 3 or so best performers. Also, if I were to add a relatively strong low-profile gpu aswell, would I need to upgrade my psu??

I'm assuming you have the MT model. Looking at the Technical Guidebook, the best CPUs you can put in there is a Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 and Core 2 Quad Q6600. What are you planning to do with this PC? The GPU you put in this thing depends on what you will use it for.

YOU CANNOT USE a core 2 EXTREME 130W processor. It will damage the motherboard and power supply which is too small.
There are NO CPU upgrades that help with games. Zotac GTX 1050 TI MINI would be the upgrade FOR MINI TOWER. This is not a waste of money because you can migrate this to a newer machine.
If price and Size is a limiting factor the lowest I would Go is GT 1030. This is for MT OR DT only. Smaller Units power supply is too small. USFF HAS NO SLOTS.
