That is a helpful YouTube video. I am aware of this psu but have not seen a good demo.

if your current psu is doing well for you, there is no need to upgrade it yet unless you want to change to a more powerful gpu.

the Q9650 cpu will work for 780, regardless of psu power rating.

gt1030 is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 3.0 x4 interface, your 780 has q45 chipset using PCI Express* x16 Gen 2.0.  gt1030 is backward compatible and running at gen 2.0 speed and using x4 lanes, thus 2.0x4.  Although the x16 slot can support up to 16 lanes, your card only takes 4 lanes.

780 and 980 don't have standard 24 pin connector.

Looks like the XE is using the mini power connector also.

The power for the slot is based on LOW PROFILE.

Thats why they put 25W on it.

25W is the Safety Spec for low profile cards25W is the Safety Spec for low profile cards

My actually CPU:

And my graphic card:

But i have and other question about the PCI Bus Interface, its show PCIe x4 2.0 @ 4x 2.0 what does that mean?

If i run the Render test from GPU-Z the bus interface doesen't change...

Thanks in advance for your help

I have a 780SFF working with original psu.  That psu is not available to me any more, so I bought a standard 24 to mini ATX adapter thinking it would let me use standard ATX connector. surprise: no power at all. PSU definitely good as tested in other system.  I could not figure out why.

x16 has more bandwidth than x4. each lane has same speed but if you have a 16 lane express way more data traffic can move through than 4 lane. I heard in practice video card does not usually need more than 8 lane though. core 2 quad does not require more psu power than core 2 duo, nor is it more stable. Quad core can multitask better than duo core. Gaming recommends quad core than duo.

Hi @redxps630

Thanks for all your info^s

About the graphic card, 4lanes or 16lanes change something about the speed or power?

but normally i think she can be detected on x16 it is thru? its maybe about the sound card plugged on the next pci port...

On some mother board (long time ago on Asus motherboard for my experience), if you put 2 card on the Pci's x16 slots, the BIOS divide the speed and the cards run at x8.

About the PSU and CPU,

Yeah i see on the specs book for the OP780, the IntelQ9550 is allowed, also the Q9650 but is more expensive on Ebay...

But about the power, (the graphic card constructer recommend 300W Psu), if i put the XE Psu (i win 45W) and add the Q9550, the system can be more stable that i have now with the Core2duo?

About your PSu for the OP, i find it on Ebay:

Thanks for your help and have a nice day

The X16 the black slot is wired X4 because the max power per PCI-E spec for a LOW PROFILE Card X4 is 25W

Max power for LOW Profile X1 card is 10W.

both the 4 pin and 24 pin connector must be attached to the motherboard.

AND it must be an EPS12v PFC power supply

AND it must have 140W or more combined power for the 3.3v/5v rails

EVGA 700BR meets those specifications. You can always have more power but you should not have LESS than bare minimum on any rail.EVGA 700BR meets those specifications. You can always have more power but you should not have LESS than bare minimum on any rail.
