Optiplex 790 MT, PSU for video card

Hello, I'm Brett.  Thank you for helping out.  I have a Dell 790 Optiplex MT.  I was told the biggest PSU I could run is the stock PSU (265 watts).  I need around the 400 watt range.  I am doing this so I can get a video card.  As you know, the PSU has a of configuration.  Thanks again.

Power Supplies are not a Single Rail with a Single Spec of Watts.

The 790 mini tower uses 053N4 265W

This means you need an EPS 12V 80 percent efficient power supply that has AT LEAST 146W on the 3.3v/5v rails.  The 24 pin connector on the 790 is not proprietary.

Less Than 700W usually does not meet that spec.

This is why EVGA 700B1 100-B1-0700-K1 is recommended.

750B1 also works fine.

HOWEVER B2 BQ G2 etc from the same series DOES NOT WORK.

The reason is because instead of 150W on those 3.3v/5v rails they are 120W or even 100W instead.
