Optiplex 960 Dual Monitors/add in graphics card issue
Hi all,
I recently was given an Optiplex 960 desktop, and have been trying to get it to run. My problem is that every time I've tried to start it, I've gotten 1 of 2 error messages. The first, when I tried to run it with a single monitor, was something about how no graphics card was detected. I tried running it with two monitors using a VGA y-splitter cable, and now I'm getting a new error message:
This computer has an add in graphics card, but the monitor cable is plugged into the integrated video connector. To attach the monitor cable to the add-in graphics card:
1. Shut down the computer
2. Plug the monitor cable into the add-in graphics card connector. This may require a video adapter or video adapter cable.
3. Turn on the computer
I've got no idea where or what the add-in graphics card connector is (I've been using a Mac laptop for years, and a Dell desktop is very much outside of my wheelhouse). As far as I know, the previous owner ran dual monitors with the same VGA splitter set-up that I've been trying to replicate, so I really don't know what the problem might be.
Any advice much appreciated, I've been wading around the Dell support pages and haven't been able to figure anything out.

Can you post a photo of the back of the PC? Then we'll know if it has a separate GPU (graphics processing unit) (short for "graphics card") or not.
Thanks, bradthetechnut
