Optiplex briefly turns on automatically after supplying AC power - Why?

Hello,

Our Optiplex 5070's briefly turn on (power LED tuns on) and then turn off when they are supplied with AC power.

This is causing us issues when there has been a power outage, as all the PC's draw power from the source at the same time which causes another outage in that electrical group.

Is this some kind of setting somewhere? I've checked the BIOS but can't find anything.

Also, we have a bunch of PC's with valid service tags that fall under warranty, yet when I use supportassist or the Dell website - it notifies me that "I am eligible for support" but gives me zero ways to actually contact support - Does anyone know how that works?

Thanks for the assistance, it's appreciated!

The brief power on when power is introduced is a self test that it does.  There isn't a way to turn it off.  This goes back to ancient Dell's.  You may need to consider not having too many PC's on 1 breaker if that's the case.  It's best not to have more items plugged into 1 breaker than what it can handle if all turned on.

As for the Support Assist site - Not sure what's going on there.  You may have noticed there's support links at the end of every thread, one of those being the Contact Support link.  A person can call, chat, or email.

Hey Brad,

Thanks a lot. This is all the confirmation I needed to step back to our electrician to get this solved!
