Power Connectors to Optiplex 760 DT

Hello,

I was wondering if my OptiPlex 760 DT with the Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8500 @ 3.16GHz

can be upgraded with a newer power supply or not.

This power supply only has (2) SATA power connectors and (1) 3.5" drive power connector.

I want to change to a new CPU cooler with heat sink and fan but most of them today have a 3 pin to 4 pin power connector.

This motherboard only has a 5 pin connector for the power CPU Fan connection.

What I need it either to upgrade the power supply if possible with molex power connectors OR find a more suitable way to optimize my power for different peripherals that use molex connectors.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Yes and No.   Power supply is not standard and larger unit wont fit into the case. The 24 pin connector is smaller than standard power supply.

You can remove the internal power supply and run wires with an adapter inside via the Hole left behind.

Bare Minimum Recommended is EVGA 700BR.

Smaller units are not likely to work

Dell needs 142 W to 225W combined for the 3.3v and 5v rails with 25Amps on each of those rails.

The other issue is that Full Height cards do not fit into the case.

Nor do Dual Slot cards.

GT1030 works fine.

To be blunt, this is a 2008 era machine.  I wouldn't spend any $$ on it or do any upgrades.  $$ spent on a newer refurbished PC would be a better option.  You can get refurbished OptiPlex machines with Windows 10 installed for under $200 or for a little over $200 depending on models.
