SFF 9010 shut off randomly, blinking amber light, took a while to restart
I've had this problem happen a while back, maybe months back.
I don't know how it's working again, I had it taken apart/looking around. I thought I smelled something burning(that electrical burnt smell) but it was coming from the CPU fan area.
Anyway after a while I got it to turn back on and I'm currently using it now/have been since yesterday for 10+ hrs.
Just wondering what this issue could be. I did not get the blink pattern down though.
I will point out I have a low profile 1050ti, not self-powered in this computer and 32GB of ram. I know there's varying opinions on that.
I wouldn't mind replacing the psu but with what's going on in the world... I have another sff desktop lying around maybe I can cannibalize for the psu.
For context when it went down I was not gaming or anything, but I had several Chrome windows open/an 8GB VM running.
But yeah question is why can it restart/keep working, maybe it just hit a threshold/redundant systems?

these are suspicious signs of failing psu. Note a failing psu does not usually progress from perfect health to sudden abrupt death one day, but rather presents with gradual prolonged deterioration until one day it would not work at all.

Yeah maybe that is what's happening because it would not come back on(flashing amber light).
I had to try/wait a while before it would turn on again.
I will have to invest in a new one

If you have a spare verified working ATX psu w 24/4 pin, you can use it to test the pc. a replacement psu can be quite cheap. this one is 13.99 free shipping.

Thanks for that solution, I realize it's not expensive just currently it's not easy to order things(apt complex won't accept packages at this time).

Well the power supply died again, this time I heard something "pop". I don't want to say it was a cap but yeah... I could have probably forced it to work again... but this time I just decided to steal the power supply from a desktop I had lying around, it's an Acer AXC-603G-UW13. The plugs are pretty much the same except it's missing the power cable for the disk drive, which is fine as I don't use it. Also had two Sata power cables so that was perfect. I guess this power supply is 20W short... but so far seems to work.
This power supply is a little bit big so I actually can't close the case but It'll work for now until I get a replacement.
