Upgrading Power Supply in Optiplex with a Dell PSU
Hello everybody,
Currently using stock GPU and a P600 GPU
I wanted to upgrade GPU, which requires more power.
I found a new GPU to use, now it's time to upgrade the PSU
First of all, I wanted to state that I am not interested in if the power supply fits inside of the SFF case or not, as I have already relocated the stock 200w unit to external (to give the GPU more room).
I had seen some conflicting answers on this forum so I wanted to revisit it.
I purchased a H500EPM-00 - Chicony version (Y7R0X)
The 5060 currently uses a 200w PSU (I think)
1x 4-pin (standard 12V, GND)
1x 6-pin (proprietary Dell motherboard)
The Y7R0X has
2x 4-pin (standard 12V?+GND;? one of them connected to motherboard, the other would not be connected)
1x 6-pin (proprietary Dell motherboard)
1x 6-pin (standard 12V?+GND?, for PCIe card; also this one is unused in my case)
1x 6-pin with optional additional GND 2-pin (standard 12V?+GND? to be used
Can anyone confirm this would work before I fry my system?
Again, I do not care about fit and finish, as much as if it will allow me to use a more powerful GPU.
