memory upgrade "not supported"
I have a refurbished Optiplex 755, Windows 7 pro 32 bit, 2GB RAM. I want to install 64 bit Linux so I got 2 new 2GB memory sticks and replaced the 2 1GB ones, into the same slots. When I booted up I got a message "unsupported memory configuration. Please, populate DIMMI."
So what do I do now? Is there a solution?

There are 4 diff models of the 755. Pick the right manual to get the directions for installing memory-
https://downloads.dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_desktop/esuprt_optiplex_desktop/optiplex-755_user%27s%20guide_en-us.pdf
The error message means the first DIMM slot is empty and ram is not installed in the right slots. Memory needs to be installed in pairs and in matching slots. See the manual.
See Crucial for the correct ram upgrades-- https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/Dell/optiplex-755-series-%28desktop-mini-tower-and-small-form-factor%29
