I took a look at the heatsinks listed for the R630. Y8MC1 is listed for the higher TDP of 160W. The only alternative was a lower TDP of 120W. All the heatsinks listed for the R730 show a TDP of 165W. I'd expect that Y8MC1 is the part number you'd be looking for. Let me know if that helps, or if you have more questions.
I did a little bit more research. What I did: I checked on eBay for R630 or R730 that are sold with E5-2697 v3 and tried to get the Service Tag from the photos. What I found:
Dell R730 Service Tag: Original configuration sold with Intel E5-2697 v3 (p/n TJP3X) and standard heatsink (p/n YY2R8)
Dell R630 Service Tag: Original configuration sold with Intel E5-2697 v3 (p/n TJP3X) and 160W Heatsink for PowerEdge R630 (p/n Y8MC1)
So, for R730 it seems that I can install E5-2697 v3 with the standard heatsink. For R630 I need to buy a different part number.
Does anyone know where I could find these details, so I can check myself for a 135W CPU like E5-2698 v3? Thank you!
Not to my knowledge, the reference document I used was the internal part database. That's not to say there's not something out there, but I haven't seen anything that would be a useful reference.
