Dell part number X520 Daughter card for a PE R730
HI All,
I'm looking on purchasing a X540-AT2 10 Gb Intel daughter card. I want to keep costs down so will the daughter cards from a R720 work in an R730? I believe they look the same. If not can someone provide me with the part number?
Thanks,
Nick

I apologize for that, the part number for the daughtercard is 99GTM for the newest released card, and part 98493 for the previous version. Both are the X540's.

NPolite2,
The X520 Network Daughter Card (NDC) isn't supported on the R730 server. Below you will see the supported NDC's, as well as their functionality.
Let me know if this helps.

HI Chris,
Thanks for the response. So I would need the X540-AT2 and only that one will work in the R730? Would you happen to have the Dell part number or is there a way I can check this via OpenManage? I have another R730 with the X540-AT2 in it.
Thanks,
Nick

It isn't the only one, but the only one with specs comparable to the X520. What exactly are you looking for in the NIC?

The part numbers would be K7H46 and 3DFV8, which are both x540's. The others are SFP ported.

Hi Chris,
I'm looking for a cheap 10GB RJ45 daughter card. The one I had ordered for the R730 had a SFP instead of RJ45 so I am looking to swap it out. If you have the part numbers, could you provide them to me? I'm looking to sell the one I have with the SFP port for one on Ebay with the RJ45 connection.

Thanks Chris. The part numbers appear to be for the PCI express cards. I am looking for the daughterboard card part numbers.
