NMI: Parity check/memory parity error

I have a pe 2450 with the bios a09 and sometimes It shows the following message and stops working: *** Hardware malfunction Call your hardware vendor for support NMI: Parity check/ memory parity error *** The system has halted*** Any solution?

The error you're seeing is a very generic Windows error message when the OS detects a problem with memory - any type of memory that is plugged into the system board; First thing that is recommended in this situation is to reseat all system memory; If the errors persist you should go to support.dell.com and choose Drivers/Downloads, enter your service tag, and under the Diagnostics Utility section download and run the Dell 32 Bit Diag Utility; This should tell which memory module is causing the error; One other thing to point out is that if you're using the on-board RAID controller the cache memory DIMM may also generate the error; It's recommended to reseat this DIMM also but only after disconnecting the ROMB battery which saves data in the RAID cache durning system power off;
