booting to access raid array in a T320 server w/ perc s110 and server 2012 essentials
I have a new dell poweredge t320 with the aforementioned perc s110 controller that is looping doing windows updates. Spoke to Microsoft & they want me to boot another os & access the drive to delete a file.
I tried booting 2012 essentials disk but there is no way to load a driver that I can see and the array is not seen. I downloaded the 2012 driver (64bit) and tried booting a wind 7 64 bit in repair mode and then loading the 2012 driver from usb but that bluescreens. I don't have an win 8 disk now anyone have thoughts on how I could effect this repair?

Hello
I would not suggest that you boot from any other MS version aside from the installed version. Booting from the installed OS installation DVD and deleting the files via command line would be the best option.
I would recommend booting to a Linux live DVD, but the S-series only has Windows drivers. The S-series only works with a limited number of Microsoft operating systems. You should be able to locate more information in the manual for the S110.

If I cannot boot the raid array without getting the Microsoft update problem, how do I load the perc drivers to see the hard disk array from os dvd ? I can boot 2012 but it doesn't see the array & I don't know where to load drivers. I do not seem to be able to load them within recovery mode. Admittedly my 1st time with this type of problem. Can I do that by building a usb boot copy with drivers on it? Only thing I can think of that I have not tried.

You can use a flash drive or CD, load the drivers on it, then at the screen where no drives are found, click on Load Drivers, and browse to the location of the drivers.
You must first download and RUN the driver file to extract the contents before loading on flash drive or CD.
