2950 Perc 5/i: Creating multiple virtual disks??

I have a new Dell 2950 with two 145gb SAS HDD's and a Perc 5/i raid controller. I would like to create to virtual drives (Raid1), one 20gb for the operating system and another using the remaining space for data storage. I create the first VD at 20gb then but then cannot select the option to create the second VD.  I would like to avoid creating one large VD then splitting it at the OS level if I can avoid it. Any ideas where I am going wrong, is this possible with the Perc 5/i? I have setup many Dell Servers with varying Raid controllers and never ran into this issue before....
Replies greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Rick

I was able to accomplish the task.  It has to be done under the "space allocation" menu. My Bad.
Thanks anyway.

Had same issue, irritating isn't it, been doing RAIDS since 1998...they don't make it any easier :)

Hi,

  1. Reboot server
  2. Press "Ctrl+C" to enter in the RAID configuration
  3. In the first tab "VD Mgmt" select "Controller 0" and press "F2-Operations"
  4. Select the option to create the virtual disk
