Bad new SSD?
Hi,
I've purchased two new identical Samsung SSDs (SAMSUNG MZ7KM480HMHQ-00005) and inserted them into PowerEdge R720's last two bays. Right after insertion, both disk has state 'Ready.' One works fine but the other one shows repeated errors like:
Unexpected sense. SCSI sense data: Sense key: 6 Sense code: 29 Sense qualifier: 0: Physical Disk 0:1:7 Controller 0, Connector 0
I can't add the 'bad' SSD to a new RAID. To test, if I try to create a RAID-0 only from the 'bad' SSD, it does not even show as an available disk to add while the other good one is listed. Does it pretty much confirm the 'bad' SSD is really defective?
Thanks,

Hi,
The sensekey is for the drive powering up. Can you try it in a different system and see if it works?

Hi You
Your ssd drive is faulty, or not compatible with the one you are using, try plugging another drive into the drive
good luck
