Choosing the boot drive on R410 with SAS 6/iR RAID ?

We an R410 with SAS 6/iR RAID.
It has two disks.

I want to be able to choose (either on BIOS or SAS config) from which disk to boot (while each contains a different OS)

in the BIOS, I can only choose to boot from the SAS controller or not.
In the controller, I could not find how to set from which disk to boot from, as it boots from disk 0 always

Is there a way to do that ?

physically, I cannot bypass the SAS controller and connect the drives directly to the board, as there is no way to provide power to the disks (even when removing the controller's backplane)

Thanks,

Zeevik

PS. the motivation to do so is to install two different OS, which do not support dual boot (Vmware ESX 3.5 and Vmware ESX 4.0) and from time to time choose remotely from which disk to boot.

Hello :)

I am facing the same problem.

I want to use some T100 servers with sas 6/iR controllers with NO Raid management.

I can't find any way to disable the Raid management of the controllers, and system is booting sometime on the first HDD, sometimes on the second...

You cannot "disable" RAID on the SAS 6/iR ... if you want to use the drives in non-RAID mode, you will have to delete any Virtual Disks (arrays) created on the controller and leave it unconfigured.  When left unconfigured, you can use the drives in non-RAID mode.
