You can't. The SAS 5/i is a non-RAID SAS controller.

Yes, but you will use it in NON-RAID mode. You cannot switch from non-RAID to RAID - they are neither compatible nor interchangeable. If you want RAID, you need to backup your data, replace SAS 5/i with SAS 5/iR, configure RAID, then restore data.

i am using this , is it possible to replacing my 5/1 with 5/ir without loosing my data and disk structure
