DOS drivers PERC3e/Di for using Partition Magic 8

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out how to make the raid array visible when booting from a DOS boot floppy in order to use partition magic 8 to resize a linux ext3 partition.  I know the disk structure should be visible when using a DOS bootdisk, but will this be enough to get Partition Magic to work?

As the perc should have the bios enabled on it, DOS should be able to read the disks. It may not be able to read the filesystem obviously (as DOS can only read FAT and maybe FAT32 (depends on version of DOS) without special tools/drivers).

As for whether Partition Magic 8 will work, I would think it should, unless the container is larger than what it supports (per Symantec it's 300GB or more (depending on memory (not sure if DOS would require loading himem.sys and such)).

I made a mistake, it's a PERC4e/Di, not a PERC3
